  Paladin Security joins Whitecaps FC & BC Lions to support the Canadian Cancer Society

  During Daffodil Month, the Canadian Cancer Society encourages Canadians to wear a daffodil pin as a symbol of support for people living with cancer, and to join the fight against cancer by making a donation to the Society.

  Today, Friday, April 26, the Society enlisted the help of local companies and celebrities with street teams to help raise awareness and funds in BC, and colour block Downtown Vancouver in the iconic yellow pins! 

   

  More than 70 people - including senior management, staff,  volunteers, police and emergency services personnel - gave their time early Friday morning to join the fight, with appearances from the likes of celebrity chefs James Coleridge of Bella Gelateria and Erin Ireland of To Die For Fine Foods, who both offered their scrumptious signature Daffodil Month dessert creations to lucky passersby. 

   

  Paladin's Daffodil Street Team - comprised of Social Media Manager Rachel Healy, Corporate Employee Care Coordinator Jason Creek, and Paladin Security Officers Debra Anderson and Sean Gardiner - took over the intersection of Burrard and Georgia and, along with the Whitecaps’ Carl Valentine, Bob Lenarduzzi, Brad Rusin, Brad Knighton, Spike the mascot, and the BC Lions’ Akeem Foster and Jon Hameister-Ries (with a guest appearance from Vancouver Canadians' Bob Brown Bear!) raised thousands of dollars for this very important cause.

   

  This day of action - the first of its kind for the Society - also promotes National Daffodil Day tomorrow, Saturday, April 27, which is a designated day to reflect upon the thousands of Canadians who are on a cancer journey, and also to remember those who have not survived.
