  Fourth Berrien Courthouse victim is school security guard - MLive.com

  BENTON HARBOR, MI--  An administrative assistant at Benton Harbor High School said Tuesday that school employees were updated on the condition of the fourth shooting victim in the July 11 Berrien County Courthouse shooting, their co-worker Kenya Ellis.

  Ellis is a security guard at the school, Regina McClinton said. She said she did not know how Ellis happened to be in the courthouse Monday.

  A Michigan State Police trooper told employees at about 8 a.m. Tuesday that Ellis was doing well, she said.

  Attempts to confirm that with the hospital or family members were not immediately successful.

  According to various social networking accounts, Ellis underwent surgery Monday afternoon after being shot in the arm.

  Court employees Joseph Zangaro, 61, and Ronald Kienzle, 63, were killed when an inmate disarmed an officer while being transferred to a courtroom Monday afternoon, authorities said.

  A sheriff's deputy, 41-year-old James Atterberry Jr., and Ellis were wounded in the shooting.

  A deputy shot and killed the suspect, who was identified Monday night as Larry Darnell Gordon, 44.
