  1. How long have you worked in security & what drew you to the industry?

  3. Why are women in leadership so important for the growth of the industry?

  Women are so important in leadership in any industry as we provide a different perspective across the board, from management to human resources to client service.

  4. How do you see our roles evolving in the future?

  More and more women in the security industry are working hard to work alongside men at every level of an organization which contributes an outlook that I think would otherwise be neglected, and this trend will only continue to grow in my opinion. We're often seen as more relatable leaders, which is important for the clients, customers and members of the general public we interact with every day. This is especially important, for example, in a healthcare security setting where female security staff can deal with female patients, or in event security with female patrons.

  5. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given that you’d like to pass on to women following in your footsteps?

  You've got to have a thick skin to work in security, but never take anything personally. If someone is acting foolish, it doesn’t matter if you’re a woman, they're merely fighting authority. Stick with it and great things will come!
